Software and hardware metering package of greenhouse gases emitted at nitric acids production

The automated monitoring system of nitrogen oxide emission at nitric acids production plants (AMSN2O) is intended for the continuous data collection at the nitric acid production machines of the values of nitrogen oxide flow, ammonia, air, pressure and temperature in ammonia oxidation reactors, 100% nitric acid flow, systematization and analysis of the obtained information, validity check and reporting on inventory check of nitrogen oxide emission in formats corresponding to the requirements of АМ0034 procedure.
AMSN2O is aimed to define the nitrogen oxide at emission machines and calculate the associated parameters during the basic and design campaigns according to АМ0034 practices “Catalytic reduction of N2O in ammoniac burner of the plants manufacturing the nitric acid” approved by CDM UNFCCC Executive board.
 
Each subsystem has the machine-wise structure. Each machine is equipped with:
 
  • Automated analysis system of the emitted gas (with current outlet of 4-20mА and with Ethernet or RS-485 board for servicing automation) in which the Non-Dispersive Infra-Red (NDIR) absorption is used (including the test probe, pipes and sample conditioning system); this system constantly measures N2O concentration in combustion gases at outlets of each acid production machine. The sampler extracts the homogeneously mixed gas directly from the combustion or residual gas flow from the point of its leakage from the gas pipeline to the analyzer;
  • volumetric gas discharge meter which utilizes the differential pressure method for continuous monitoring of the combustion gas flow. Temperature and pressure meter in the smoke-stack (with current outlet of 4-20mА) for calculation of the volume-flow rate of combustion gases brought to standard conditions;
  • measuring transducers with current outlet of 4-20mА (instead of pneumatic ones or additionally), pressure drop (flow), temperature, ammonia and air pressure; pressure in the contact apparatus; flow, concentration and temperature of the nitric acid;
  • measuring transducers of nitric acid concentration;
  • controllers, inlet-outlet modules for information collection, processing and transmission.
